The Eastern Gateway
From the sagebrush at its alluvial base to the 13,063-foot summit of Wheeler Peak, Great Basin National Park includes streams, lakes, alpine plants, abundant wildlife, a variety of forest types including groves of ancient bristlecone pines.
The park also includes numerous limestone caverns, including the beautiful Lehman Caves, a cavern that is over 2 miles in length and makes for the longest cave in the state of Nevada. Lehman Caves are open year round and offers daily tours excluding some holidays. Tickets are necessary to tour the caves. See website for details.
