Millard County is home to some of the best ATV/UTV opportunities in the country.

The Black Rock Desert is a volcanic area, or volcanic field, covering more than 700 square miles in eastern Millard County. See landforms including volcanic cones, lava tubes, pressure ridges, and craters.

Notch Peak’s sheer cliff juts up about 3000 feet above the desert floor. It is an amazing site-one of the most dramatic cliff faces in America.

Joy was settled in 1872 as the center of the Detroit mining district. Significant gold, silver, manganese and copper were extracted from the area.

From the sagebrush at its alluvial base to the 13,063-foot summit of Wheeler Peak, Great Basin National Park includes streams, lakes, alpine plants, abundant wildlife, a variety of forest types including groves of ancient bristlecone pines

The Rock Cabin is a cabin built in a hollowed out section of a large boulder by a skilled craftsman. The Hermit of Marjum Pass made a living keeping the pass clear of debris. A cave turned into a home.

Great Basin Museum was established in 1989 to tell our story, the story of Millard County and nearby areas.

Take a step back in time and experience Utah’s oldest existing governmental building. The Statehouse served a variety of purposes after 1858. It functioned as a civic center, religious meeting center, school, theater and even a jail.

The government and the U.S. Army, citing “military necessity,” removed 110,000 men, women and children from their homes and took them to ten remote camps.

Travelers stopping at Fort Deseret will have an opportunity to see first-hand the ingenuity of early settlers as they walk through the old mud fort.

Located only 38 miles from Delta in Juab County, the Little Sahara Recreation area is one of the few in Utah that is totally devoted to the OHV recreational sport. The whole recreation site is a giant designated riding area. It will take only moments after you reach the dunes that you are suddenly thankful that you have a whip flag on your machine to make you visible to your fellow recreationists as they come at you from every direction.

The Fishlake National Forest in central Utah features majestic stands of aspen encircling open mountain meadows that are lush with a diverse community of forbs and grasses.
